A1 Building Group is a National Insurance Builder we repair domestic properties both large scale and Minor Works throughout Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and New South Wales.

The growth of A1 Building Group in recent months has been enormous so much so that our humble business was ranked No 30 in the 2017 'Financial Review Fast 100' within Australia. So our ongoing recruitment to find more good people has been essential to keep up with the demand of the business. We are now seeking an Estimator to join our experienced team based in Kingsgrove NSW. Interstate travel may also be required to other state offices in times of Natural Disasters, Events and surges in work allocation from state to state, we do see this though as the exception and not an ongoing travel requirement.

As the NSW Estimator you will be a big part of the wider repair team, you will  frequently communicate with Homeowners, Insurance Clients and our Trade Partners. Throughout the day you will be utilising and further developing your skills such as estimating, costing, report writing, customer service and communications.

To be successful in this role you will need to have very good all round building knowledge. Traits such as accountability, ownership, flexibility and the agility to handle and thrive in a fast paced environment are essential.

Your trade qualifications in the building services industry are preferred and your demonstrated technical knowledge in building is essential, as are your intermediate computer skills and knowledge of and / or adherence to Conflict Resolution processes. Ideally, you will bring to us your industry and work life skills.

You will need to demonstrate your ability to show empathy to people in stressful situations and have first class customer service skills. Your strong attention to detail, problem solving ability, and time management and communication skills will also be some of your strengths.

The position involves working closely with our repair teams nationally, our clients, suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure the best possible cost outcomes for both our clients and customers.

The Requirements:

  • To pro-actively plan and organise your work day to meet KPIs and timelines.
  • Ensure 100% compliance within the Standard Operating Procedures and the designed processes.
  • Trade background in Building, preferably Carpentry, Roof Plumbing/Tiling  and Building related disciplines.
  • Intermediate computer skills with competency in Windows, MS Office and estimating software
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Good grammar and oral and written English communication skills
  • Flexibility with hour's
