We now have an exciting opportunity available for a 'National Procurement Manager' to join our team based in Mulgrave, Victoria.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • National Responsibility and ownership of a growing ‘National Building Repair Panel’ with the potential to build a small team around you.
  • Ownership of the procurement initiatives in line with Management directives
  • Sourcing new trade contractors to ensure adequate cover for all A1 Building Group’s Servicing Zones
  • Manage the contractor on boarding process including contract management, checking of referrals and standard of work
  • Management of trade hourly rates and material mark ups across all trade disciples.
  • Manage contractor compliance, ensuring all details such as licenses and ABN are correct and up to date
  • Management and negotiation of new and existing supplier contracts.
  • To better existing contractor and supplier relationships and establish new ones
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of best practice processes, procedures and systems relating to procurement and contract management

Skills & Experience:

-Strong industry experience, working within a similar role working directly within the building/construction industry or insurance related preferred

-Experience in contracts and an understanding of current legislation and standards

-Proven experience in achieving substantial cost reductions through effective management of contracts and delivering continuous improvement

-Ability to be flexible and adaptable within a high pressure and changing environment and effectively manage multiple priorities

-High level of communication skills both written and verbal

-High level of analytical and lateral thinking skills with the ability to operate autonomously and take initiative

-High level experience in developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levels and a sound understanding of stakeholder needs

-Strong IT skills including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
